The Topic

For my research paper, I picked a controversial topic that doesn't seem to be dying down anytime soon. Ever since homosexuality has become public in society, it longs to be recognized legally. This has evolved into the fight for same-sex marriages and the privileges it entails. I know I have my work cut out for me with this topic, but it's something I feel that needs to be addressed head-on.
The argument gay rights activists have for passing same-sex marriages is that they deserve the same benefits as heterosexual couples. Who is the government to tell people who they can and can not love? On the other hand, anti-gay and lesbian groups say they are a disgrace to the union of marriage and can not sanction their bond due to the inability to reproduce.
